If you have been following me on Instagram and Twitter then you haven't been missing too many of the "My Favorite Things" challenge that I am participating in for the month of August.
I've occasionally fallen behind but working to get all caught up today!
Day 3: Favorite Foods: Tacos!! Lately, I've been coming across sooo many great recipes that have really creative twists on a classic dish! Whether it be Korean BBQ tacos, tacos Al Pastor, or even Mahi-Mahi fish tacos, they are the perfect food!
Day 4: Favorite Shoes: Guess pumps! I love these shoes because they are timeless, they were a great deal and I feel amazing in them! Still looking for a perfect occasion to debut these beauties! Someone send me my invite to the Governor's Ball!!!!
Day 5: Favorite Person: My sister! My Sister is hands down one of my absolute favorite people! She is beautiful, kind and is such an amazing ambassador for Christ! She reps hard for her school--shout out to the Noles and she is on her way to be an amazing journalist! Love you sooo much more than I could ever say!!
Day 6: Favorite Jewelry: Pink heart necklace. I'm not a huge jewelry person and it took some serious thinking time to figure out what exactly is my favorite piece of jewelry and more importantly--why! The more I thought about it the more I recalled seeing this piece of jewelry in many of my favorite undergrad photos. These photos remind me of a special period of time with some unforgettable people! I love that this piece of jewelry carries such a beautiful memory.
Day 8: Favorite Recent Purchase: ART! I was walking through my favorite thrift shop when I happened upon this artwork! The colors are sooo vibrant and full of life and are a wonderful reminder of how beauty lies even in the midst of work. Wish I knew who painted this to give them due credit but I can say Thank You for making something beautiful that I can keep on my walls.
Day 9: Favorite Sound: A-B-C-D....LMNOPPPPP.... listening to my little sweetie sing his ABC's is truly a beautiful sound. He is so full of life and happiness and although he is constantly reminding me that he's not a baby--I hope to always be his Tatie Rachel!
Day 10: Favorite Book: Promise Bible: As a child of God, there is nothing more comforting and reassuring than the promises He has given us. Promises of peace, love and most importantly, eternal life with Him. I love this Bible for highlighting all these important promises!
Day 11: Favorite Word/Saying: Demand Evidence and Think Critically! This was a tough one because it was not initially my favorite. As I progressed through my academic career, the importance of evidence and critical thinking became so significant. Whether in your careers, relationships and personal decisions--you have to be a critical thinker! As someone who over thinks things sometimes, this is a wonderful reminder to STOP! Gather evidence! Make wise decisions about the rationality of your thoughts, actions and attitudes!
Day 12: Favorite View: The ocean! I live in South Florida and hold fast to the saying that there is nothing that salt water can not fix: whether it be tears, sweat or the ocean... One of my favorite places to seek out quiet and marvel at God's beautiful creation!
Day 13: Favorite Writing Tool: Handwritten notes: At first I took a photo of my favorite pen and then thought about how writing things out, help me to develop my thoughts and depth of my writing so much better. Thankful for the simple ability to pick up a pen and let thoughts flow through my fingers!
Day 14: Favorite Fruit: Mangoes!! I remember my first summer in Florida. I must have eaten at least 20 mangoes in one week! Over 12 years later, they remain one of my favorite fruits!
Thank you for reading! I know this was a lot for today but I just had to get you all caught up!
P.S. It's not too late to join in on this wonderful, intentional look into what makes a beautiful life! I've enjoyed reading other BLM girls' stories and seeing their beautiful life photos!
